To all our customers
We hope you are well. Please do read the following update.
The office and shop remain closed as per our last email. All staff have been sent home to follow government mandate for non essential workers. We will not ask our staff to put themselves or their families at risk by coming to site. This obviously includes our cleaner Margaret so the showerblocks have been locked until further notice. No visiting boats are being accepted.
The phone remains diverted to my mobile. If you could keep calls to office hours unless absolutely urgent that would be appreciated. Emails and web enquiries are being monitored off site as is the CCTV.
Some of our commercial fisherman still have to come to site to access their boats to move fleets of pots. A number of them, including former staff member Michael M, with his crewman Scott, have been employed to undertake safety and security rounds. All warps and fenders are being checked daily. They will also be checking for any suspicious activity. We are very grateful to them for agreeing to undertake this task in addition to their important work and would like to take this opportunity to thank them for their support. Please note they do not have keys to open the shop, serve diesel or reset electric points.
To ensure their safety whilst they are ensuring the safety of your boat and for your own safety please only come to the marina if it is a matter of urgency. Please contact us by phone or email in the first instance as I can get to site to carry out tasks to ensure you can continue to remain in isolation for the next few weeks.
If you MUST come to the marina please follow the guidance provided by the government: ensure a distance from others of two meters; catch any coughs and sneezes in a tissue and bin it; wash your hands. If you are feeling unwell please do not come to site. In addition please do not allow anyone to follow you through the gates, members of the public remain blissfully unaware that by following you in they will be trapped once the gate closes.
The single toilet on the front of the office block remains open, without professional cleaning we ask if you must use it to consider those who follow you and leave it clean and tidy. Please wash you hands. Please remember that as the usual team are not on site door handles etc will not be disinfected.
Thank you for your support during these unprecedented times. We look forward to welcoming you all back to the marina as soon as possible.
Please do get in touch if you have any queries or concerns or even if you would just like to make contact and hear a friendly voice.
Stay safe, stay well and take care.
Karl and the team
