Helping you get back on the water safely
With the latest round of Government announcements, DEFRA has clarified that recreational boating is now permissible.
We are very much looking forward to seeing you again. To ensure you are able to relax and enjoy your time here, despite the current circumstances, we have implemented plans to ensure social distancing rules for your safety.
Reception and chandlery
Throughout the lockdown period a small skeleton staff have been working on site to ensure the safety of your boat and the marina. We are delighted that all staff are now back on site. If you have any queries please do not hesitate to contact us by telephone 01665 712168 or by email firstname.lastname@example.org.
We have implemented measures to ensure the safety of customers and staff. Screens have been fitted to the shop and we have sourced antibacterial gels to help everyone shop with confidence.
We are currently operating at a one customer at a time maximum for the foreseeable future and we ask you to maintain the 2 meter distancing rule when in the shop and if queuing to enter. Please wear a mask.
Wherever possible please pay by card or bacs. Cash for small amounts is fine but other than for annual berthing we will not be accepting cheques.
All facilities, including trolleys, will be thoroughly cleaned with antibacterial sprays daily. The key cupboard will be sprayed in disinfectant, we will remove any electric fobs. Where possible, please bring your own keys with you.
Antibacterial gel dispensers have been fitted to the site and hand washing facilities are available. However, we ask that you please take your own precautions – for your own safety and the safety of those around you.
Follow Government advice:
- wash hands regularly, use antibacterial hand gels, wear gloves and masks.
- avoid touching your face
- maintain social distancing measures
In addition, please only come to the marina if it safe for you to do so. If after visiting the marina you begin to feel unwell please try to contact us so that we can alert others.
Social distancing must be carried out by everyone on site – please bear this in mind when you are parking and moving around the site.
Toilets, showers and laundry
The toilet and showerblocks, disabled toilet and laundry are open.
For now we have had to close a number of cubicles in the toilet and showerblocks to lower capacity and ensure a safe distance. We ask that everyone use the facilities with consideration for others.
Please be mindful of others around you when going on to the pontoons, please wait for the access bridge to be clear and do not congregate on the pontoons.
You may be asked to step inside your cabin whilst we supply fuel. Similar social distancing will be required for gas bottle collection.
Assisting you safely
Should you require assistance please stay on board your boat while we take your lines. Once tied up we will leave you to sort warps and fenders in full.
Please also remember to bear in mind social distancing rules in relation to any contractors working on your boats in the coming months. As a small gesture, to support our local contractors, we have decided to waive the usual contractors fee certainly until next April. If you arrange for a contractor to visit the site please contact us to confirm these arrangements and ask your contractor to contact the marina by telephone on arrival (01665 712168)
We are delighted that from Saturday 4th July we are able to welcome visiting boats back to the marina. We currently have five berths available for visitors.
Please be aware that your visitor berth must be booked in advance. At this time we cannot welcome boats without a confirmed pre booking. Rafting of any vessels will not be permitted. This is for the safety of all customers, staff and the wider community.
To make a booking please email email@example.com, stating your name, address, boat name and make and model and preferred dates. Contact details are required to facilitate the track and trace system. Please note this email is only monitored during office hours.
As a marine facility we are waiting for further clarity from the Department for Culture, Media and Sport. In addition to the steps already taken, we will be carrying out further risk assessments, as guidance becomes available, to modify the facilities where needed which will take time.
We are doing everything we can to ensure you can access your boat whilst helping you to adhere to social distancing guidelines.
Thank you for your support and understanding during this time. We look forward to welcoming you back safely.
