I believe we have been very lucky to have had such a dry winter since Storm Arwen caused so much damage back in November. The entire crew have been working extremely hard to get the marina infrastructure back to full working order. The main walkways are now all afloat and several new sections have been installed with water and electric services also replaced.
A new fuel pump will be installed and commissioned at the end of February. This year will see a large number of the floats replaced and the project to replace all the wooden decked six metre berths is underway. There will be some piling works taking place on C hammerhead to repair the pile that was broken during the storm. The current pile was installed as a temporary measure to make the pontoons safe again – that said it has coped with the latest and hopefully last 60mph winds. This work now has the relevant licence from the MMO to be undertaken and we are hoping to appoint a contractor as soon as the insurance company gives the go ahead.
There may be some minor inconvenience when this work takes place but we will endeavour to keep this to a minimum for you. Boats may need to be temporarily moved as the work progresses but will be put back as soon as possible. Regular updates will be posted on our website and Facebook page to keep you informed of our progress.
We will continue to use Car Parking Permits – new ones will be issued with returned contracts. The permit is free and valid for each annual customer and available from either the office or by return of your contract. Please display the sticker in your windscreen. The number will only be identifiable by staff. Please ask visitors to check in at the office or park in the public car park.
We are optimistic that we will finally be able to resume our berth holder events this year. We look forward to bringing you details of these in the near future and have high hopes we will all be able to get together soon.
