To all our customers,

I hope that you and your families continue to stay safe and well. This update follows our last email of 25th March 2020.

Our staff have remained at home as per government advice. The office, shop and shower blocks remain closed though I have been on-site most days during the lockdown period. The telephone still diverts to my mobile and I am available to answer any queries on 01665 712 168 or email

On Tuesday 21st April I will start carefully launching some of the boats that are ready to go back in the water. To safely do this the owners will not be present.

Any patches that require antifouling where stands or cradles have held them will be painted once their boat is in the hoist, the boat then held for a short time before launching. Similarly simple jobs, like attaching warps and fenders, will be completed by us. Boats will be towed or driven to their berth as per customer request.

As, under normal circumstances, the antifouling etc would typically be carried out by the boat owner, the cost of the launch itself is the only fee for this service. If you would like your boat launched in your absence please get in touch. Once we have a few more launched we will look to start lifting again in early May.

A number of commercial fishermen who all live in Amble have been doing occasional trips to sea to check their gear and landing a few catches – if you are in Amble and would like crabs or lobster please call and we will put you in touch.

Please note, we have agreed that two of our customers can isolate on their boats given that both (entirely unrelated) live with A&E nurses at RVI Newcastle.

Please continue to follow government advice in relation to non-essential travel. We understand that with the improving weather it may be tempting to come to the marina to check on your boat but please stay safe and rest assured that we are continuing to ensure the safety and security of your vessel.

We very much hope that at the end of this second period of lockdown restrictions will be lifted to some degree and we look forward to welcoming you back to the marina.

Stay safe, stay well and take care.

Best wishes Karl and the Team
