Ashore at Amble Marina

The mild start to the year has allowed us to complete the installation of some new yard electric points and water access points and to update some old stock where required and now we can really look forward to the coming season.

We will be commissioning more new boat cradles and pushing forward with our aims to further develop our boat yard facilities and offerings in time for winter. The current plan is to have a wet weather shelter; crane; and more cradles and trolleys. This will provide you and authorised contractors better facilities to carry out more work on site.

Our website is in the process of being given a complete overhaul. The new site at amble.co.uk will feature a better brokerage, the ability to book berths and boat yard services on-line, up to date prices and provides details of recommended cruising destinations and local places to eat, drink and explore. If you have any recommendations to add please let us know and feel free to share any photographs, anecdotes, praise and / or criticisms.

We now have the software to provide e-newsletters. For us to comply with data protection we will need you to “opt in” to newsletters if you would like to receive them which can be done via the homepage of the new website.

The use of Car Parking Permits introduced last year really helped – new ones will be issued with returned contracts. The permit is free and valid for each annual customer and available from either the office or by return of your contract. Please display the sticker in your front window. The number will only be identifiable by staff. Please ask visitors to check in at the office or park in the public car park. New signs will be placed on site to ensure no one ever gets blocked in by a boat lift.

We will be providing additional disabled parking spaces to the back of the office – please as always park with courtesy and leave these spaces free for those who need them.

Our season starter berth-holder event of Geordie Banger Butties will be held on Friday 19th April from 1000 until 1300, please let us know if you will be dropping by. We will host another event in August as usual to support a local charity – this year Amble Youth Project has been chosen. All future upcoming news on fishing competitions and events will be posted online.

We look forward to hearing from you regarding your berthing requirements for the next year. If you have any queries, please do not hesitate to get in touch.

Kind regards,

Karl Brunton
