Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

2018 has been another busy year. We are delighted that so many of you have chosen to use the new boat hoist and dock – we have carried out over 160 lifts! This is our first full year delivering this service – we have been really pleased with the performance of the equipment and are very grateful for all of your support. You will see further new services introduced next year as we grow the boat yard.

In addition, we have completed a number of important improvements and updates which focus on enhancing services, safety and security. We have reinforced piles; maintained walkway floats; installed a brand new CCTV system; altered the carpark and installed new metered electrical points and fresh water supply to this area to provide more boat storage ashore; put up new fencing; replaced the depth gauge on the end of the old jetty; and put a new roof on the office/shower block building.

We have also had two very important additions to the team! We were delighted to welcome Diane Darby in April and Michael Mitchell in January. They have both made a big contribution already. Thank you all for making them both so welcome.

Thank you also to all of you who attended this year’s berth holders BBQ. Despite the strong winds the event was a big success with live music provided by Jack and Izzy and catering provided by Johnny from Sea&Soil. Thank you for your generosity in supporting our chosen charity St Oswald’s Hospice – the event raised a fabulous £500 for this great cause. It was a pleasure to see so many of you at what was a really special afternoon. We hope you enjoyed the event and we are planning more for next year.

Brian Dunn – Seascape – won the Annual Big Fish Competition, again, with a Ling weighing 10lb 4oz. Congratulations Brian! All challengers to the crown – have your bait at the ready for Spring!

We look forward to bringing you more comprehensive news in mid-February which will be sent with the contracts in 2019. In the meantime, please do pop in to the office any time you are visiting your boat, it is always good to see you. If you are here over the Christmas period, we will have mince pies and mulled wine available every day from 15th December to help you warm up and bring some festive cheer.

Finally, I would like to take this opportunity to say a big thank you to the team for their hard work and commitment throughout the year.

Wishing you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year from all at Amble Marina.

Kind regards

Karl Brunton
