Stop for a few days – there are plenty of places to rest your head

For those of you staying for a while our berth holders have plenty of recommendations should you be looking for a comfy place to rest on dry land.

Amble

There are plenty of places to stay in Amble. The Amble Inn opened in early 2019 and offers 30 en-suite bedrooms and homemade pub food served all day, plus it is family friendly and dogs are welcome in certain rooms. There are a number of B&B’s, Coquetside which is clean and cheerful and run by the welcoming Grace and Dave Hall, is the big favourite with our berth-holders.

Warkworth

Warkworth offers a selection of high quality options. Highly recommended are Bertrams, which offers 5 boutique bed and breakfast rooms, and The Old Post Office which offers four rooms – two of which can be booked together as a family suite occupying the whole of the top floor. Both Bertrams and The Old Post Office offer exceptional food too. Other options include Warkworth House Hotel,  The Sun Inn and a number of B&B’s, Fairfield House, in particular, gets good reviews.

Alnmouth

There are plenty of options in picturesque Alnmouth. The Red Lion Inn, which has seven rooms is highly recommended, Mac and Jane will give you a warm welcome and delicious food is offered too, either in the bar, restaurant or beer garden. St Valery’s is a well regarded boutique B&B and there are also rooms available at The Saddle and The Hope and Anchor. For a truly memorable experience have a look at Shoreside Alnmouth Camping Huts. These off grid huts are a modern take on the traditional Northumbrian fishermen’s huts, beautifully finished with plenty of home comforts they also give unrivalled access to Alnmouth beach.

Alnwick

The Cookie Jar is the highlight in Alnwick for berth holders. Offering 11 exceptional rooms and suites and a lovely garden The Cookie Jar is beautifully presented and just a few minutes walk from Alnwick Castle. The town also offers a wide variety of B&B’s and a number of hotels, The White Swan is right in the centre and the Hogs Head on the outskirts just off the A1.
